Four roles. One table.

Who uses DBSS?

Parties bid without seeing their counterpart's bid, and progress is measured by a settlement potential score. Once parties see they are in range of each other, parties can reveal their bids. An automatic settlement occurs if the parties' bids match or overlap. If the bids overlap, a settlement occurs at the midpoint between the bids.

Attorneys

Manage multiple cases, blind bidding, automated scheduling. create a single account or a firm account with overview of all attorneys' accounts.

Insurance Companies

Confidential claims resolution with full control. Hand off selectively or run the whole book.

Unrepresented Claimants

Fair, transparent, no technical knowledge needed. A guided path from invite to settlement.

Uninsured Parties

Resolve directly with certainty and confidentiality. No courtroom; no public record, just efficient resolution of disputes for you individually or your self-insured industry.

How it Works

Three-phase settlement process

Three-phase settlement process

1. Invitation

Initiator sends counterparty's email and claim number if one is known. No payment. No forms. Counterparty accepts on the Invitations page.

  • No account required to start
  • Takes minutes to send an invitation
  • Counterparty accepts or ignores your invitation or declines by the absence of a response

2. Release

The party making payment chooses the terms of the release. The party accepting payment can edit/reject, or offer their own release.

  • Choose DBSS template or use your own release
  • Parties can trade three revisions of the release in order to be prepared to negotiate a settlement amount
  • DBSS does not charge if you cannot agree upon a release

3. Negotiate

Both parties pay $100.00 each. Schedule a date. Blind bidding begins where a party can see if their counterpart will come into their range. Use the settlement potential score to make progress. Options to reveal bids. When demand meets offer, settlement is automatic, difference is split. Resolve your case in one day.

  • Blind bidding, neither party sees the other's offer
  • Settlement documents are automatically generated if a settlement occurs.
